I did this for a bit of fun to see whether I had a grasp of the drivers hours etc … well, some of them …
The driver has an artic with roller door box trailer which stays permanently coupled up.
All the collections and deliveries are from RDCs which have loading docks.
The trailer is always sealed and the driver never gets to see the load.
Each day is the same -
15 mins (vehicle check)
1 hour drive
15 min break
2 hour drive
1 hour 30 mins POA (no decent facilities on site)
1 hour 30 min drive
30 min break
1 hour 30 min drive
30 mins (fuel up and end of shift duties)
TOTAL shift time from start to finish = 9 hours
6 hours driving
45 mins other work
1 hour 30 mins POA
45 mins break
TWO WEEKLY REPEATING SHIFT PATTERN

Sun 0500 - 1400 (11 hours daily rest)
Mon 0100 - 1000 (9 hours reduced daily rest)
Mon 1900 - Tue 0400 (9 hours reduced daily rest)
Tue 1300 - 2200 (9 hours reduced daily rest)
Wed 0700 - 1600 (24 hour reduced WEEKLY rest)
Thu 1600 - Fri 0100 (9 hours reduced daily rest)

Tue 1000 - 1900 (11 hours daily rest)
Wed 0600 - 1500 (143 hours from last WEEKLY rest so within the 144 hours 6X24-hour maximum)
Return to start…
6 X 9 hours of reduced daily rest (15 hours shifts) done within one WEEK (Mon 0000 to Sun 2400)
TOTALS for the two weeks -
Shifts = 14
Driving time = 84 hours ( within the 90 max for any 2 consecutive weeks)
Other work = 10.5 hours
POA = 21 hours
RTD (WTD) = 94.5 hours (47.25 hours weekly average so no probs with the 48 average)
I now await to see if I have made any errors…

I half expected delboytwo to post a reply - where is he?
i can’t see a problem my self
but if you were stopped on the last day by vosa i think there my only see you have driven for 7 days with 7 tacho and 7 different dates on them and there my see your tachos and notice that you have two on the same day that’s all i would think but it looks good mate
also IMO some of the days look like the driver would be working for over 10 hours when is shifts go in to the night rule so unless the driver as a opt out there could be problems

Only 6 hours and 45 mins of each shift would count as work and I don’t think the 10 hour night work RTD rule has been breached.
delboytwo:

I think it is actually 8 shifts between weekly rests

under working time a day is
If night work is performed, the daily working time should not exceed 10 hours in the 24 hour
period in question.
that what i am thinking of Rog RTD consider a working day as 24 hours and as you see the quote
hopefully you get what i mean
add
if you start work a 1 am the 24 hours would be 1 am the following day so only 10 hours work between them hours work that is
The 24 hour period is very important, and should not be confused with 10 hours night work
per day. This prevents a worker starting slightly earlier on the following day, unless they did
less than 10 hours work on the previous day.

I think this is the ‘worst’ case in the list of shifts.
DAILY SHIFT SCHEDULE
15 mins (vehicle check)

15 min break
2 hour drive
1 hour 30 mins POA (no decent facilities on site)

Taking the time of 0100 to 0100 (24 hours), 6 hours and 45 mins of the first shift above is counted as work and (according to the shift schedule) and so would 2 hours 45 mins of the second shift so 9.5 hours - that’s ok

i did cover my self there Rog

IMO some of the days look like
there was some thing else that court my attention in the regs
If a mobile worker does any work during the night time period, he/she will be subject to the
night work limit.
When a mobile worker performs night work on a number of consecutive days, the start time
reference point for each consecutive 24 hour period is the time at which the mobile worker
started work on the first day. This start time reference point would cease to be used when a
mobile worker does not perform any night work during two consecutive 24 hour periods.

Thanks for that Del so my first bit starting at 0100 would be the reference point
