What does the law say if someone else leaves a tacho overnight in and you fill out the finish mileage and dates in the morning?
Legal or not?.
If you fill in a tacho for another driver under these conditions & then hand it in, so that it reaches the O licence holder.Then a mistake was made by the driver who left his chart in the head, which will possibly result in his being informed as such by the chart analist, but no prosecutable offence has been committed as it was human error.
Sounds good to me Alan. Thats what I do, unless I know and see the driver before reaching the office.

I was fined £200 for leaving my tacho in overnight - improper use of the tachograph.
