Up until a couple of years ago I had a class 2 drivers license. When it came to renewing and didn’t have it put on my licence as I didn’t think I would need it again. The thing is I do now need it, how do I go about having it reinstated on my licence so that I that l can start apply to for my class 1 lessons and test.

You need to have a HGV medical and send a completed form D4 together with your application for licence renewal to the DVLA at Swansea.
You’re most likely going to find it hard to arrange a HGV medical at the moment because of the lockdown and social distancing rules, then to get class 1 you’re going to find it hard to find a HGV training company that’s still working.
To be honest, in the current climate you’re going to have some hurdles to cross just to get your HGV entitlement back let alone starting class 1 training.
