lgv licences

HI, Has the law changed ?
Just had a friend round who said that to take a class one test you must first get a class two licence now !
I used to be a MOD LGV instructor, ( 22 years ago ) and we took the lads from car licence to class one lgv in one go.
I told him to go straight for his class one, as he has extensive driving driving experience with a small truck and trailer and it is going to cost the same at the school he is going to for a class one or two, but his wife said he can not do that. is that correct ?

I THINK the law changed in either 1981 or 1997

Pass C then pass CE

As said you can no longer go straight from a car licence to a Cat C+E licence, you have to pass Cat C before you can take a Cat C+E test.
