Digiard entry

Hi, my brother is returning to hgv work after he left last year to retire and we wondered where he will stand with his digi card. His last shift was 06/10/2017 ending at 02.30. His next shift is tomorrow. Now, he hasn’t driven a truck between that time so how does he account for it when his card goes in tomorrow, is it a manual entry and would it be recorded as a long rest period ? Any advice appreciated.

Yes just put it as rest, the bed symbol.

Assuming he hasn’t done any work since he retired he can book the whole time as rest, if he has done some work since retiring he should really use the ? symbol for the time since his last HGV shift ended to the start of the current shift, though to be honest unless he’s done some work in the last week or so no-ones likely to care anyway.

Wouldn’t you use the ? Symbol to cover that piriod

Legally if you’d done any work other than HGV driving you should use the ? symbol, otherwise you could legally book rest.
