Legal?

Is this legal to have chunks missing, has about 7/8 chunks like this size all round edge of tyre.

It’s hard to tell from the image, but as long as the missing chunks are not exposing the ply I would say that’s legal.

If there’s a cut of more than 25 mm or 10% of the section width of the tyre (whichever is the greatest) that reaches the ply/cord then it needs changing.

Thanks tachograph, im i right in thinking that its allowed to have cut over 25 mm or 10% width as long as no ply or cord is showing?

As long as the cut isn’t deep enough to reach the ply or cord it should be legal.

It looks like there’s a cut or two where the rubber has been lost, I would say that if you prod the cuts/cracks carefully, and they doesn’t appear to reach the ply it should be OK even if the cut is over 25 mm or 10% of the tyre width.
