It's unofficial.

I’ve been offered a placement on my works warehouse to wheels programme

Will find out officially on Tuesday, will also find out more details aswell. I may have to wait 6 months though because there are 2 places, the training takes place in blocks of 6 months, whoever goes second has to wait 6 months for the other one to finish their training. I think it takes so long because the newbie has to get up to speed with the experienced drivers otherwise it starts affecting their figures ( :unamused: ).

Still though, chuffed to bits! Don’t quite believe it yet, I think I’ll believe it when I’m sat in a truck

That’ll be good. Keep us updated mate.

Fantastic, best of luck to you! Think about everything before you do it, if you aren’t sure just stop. Know you height, plan your route with a bridge height atlas or invest in a hgv sat nav. Zero damage is key.

Oh yer and don’t drive on grass!

Well done

Very well done! UNofficially :sunglasses:

Thanks all, I’ll keep everyone updated. I should know more tuesday so watch this space

Bet your glad you didn’t go into AK’s yard now??

Nothing wrong with showing willing
You want to be the best you can…?
Hope it all goes well for you keep us updated

Yeah just a bit

I’ve now got to the stage where I’m panicking that they take it off me and give it to someone else.

I got told “unofficially” at the end of my shift by the shift manager and told not to tell anyone, obviously as no-one is supposed to know until next week when it will get briefed officially. Thing is all the lads in work have been asking me all day if I’d had any news, so when I walk out of the office and round to the clock machine I’m greeted with many beady eyes and many questions, I can’t help but let a little smile out (really couldn’t help it) and most people work it out for themselves. Anybody who has worked in a warehouse knows that rumours spread like wildfire. Think I’ll have to go see him tomorrow and have a chat to him.

brilliant news mate , well hope your the first one to go for it , fingers crossed for tues

That would be the icing on the cake it really would  This weekend is going soooo slow

If I have to wait 6 months I might try and do a bit of agency here and there to keep things fresh although I will be badgering work to get me doing something with transport, don’t fancy being stuck in the warehouse for another 6 months :frowning:

Congratulations on the placement

congratulations on the job mate , does that mean you are the first up so no wait for 6 months  keep us all posted

Brilliant news, keep us updated

Thanks all, no it doesn’t mean I’m first up, the TM is on holiday :unamused: so I’ll have to wait until I find out. Should take a couple of weeks for them to get it organised. Details are still a bit scarce but I got my place  Really looking forward to getting started, whenever that may be :sunglasses:
