Welcome to TruckNET

There isn’t a maximum as such, but in practice you’re limited by the number of axles. You tend not to get anything above about 34T that I’ve noticed, although someone with a bit more experience will probably know better.

Paul

thank you very much i really appreciate it :open_mouth:

There are things that are heavier but they tend to be more in a specialist class of vehicle such as cranes and such. Whilst they aren’t a goods vehicle as such most of our Class 2 trucks are well over 35t and I think the max is close to 50t, but as I said, these are more specialist.

On two axles, the Max Gross Weight is 18 tonnes.

On three axles, the M.G.W. is 26 tonnes.

On four axles, the M.G.W. is 34 tonnes.

Many wagons with whatever number of axles can be plated for a lower M.G.W. depending on all sorts of different reasons. The owner might need the volume to haul light bulky loads (for eg), so buy a downplated 18 tonner which could have a body larger than is possible on a 10 tonner chassis. I could also, in this example, be talking out of my rear :open_mouth: , but you get the idea I hope  .
