Night trunk cover driver

Hi guys,

can anyone explain to me what a trunk driver is■■?

A trunk driver is a driver that does the same trip every day… Normally during the night. The Post office would be the best example of this as they would go from main sorting offices and stuff to a distribution center… and back again…

I wouldnt say its the same trip, more of a one hit and back kind of thing, ie up to stop a, swap trailers and back to yard.
I used to do trunks for woolworths at night, could have been 1 of about 8 different trunks.

At its simplest, normally its a one hit, ( drop & / or pick up) done at night.
But it Is sometimes used to descibe any night run.

thanks guys, felt a bit of a plonker for asking    but though it better to ask you guys than a prospective employer   .

Its OK to ask, I know when I started there was plenty I did not know. & we do have a tendency to use slang for things, My wife keeps correcting me when I call a truck a 6 or 8 legger, as “they have wheels.”

nice one alan, will bear that in mind in future mate cheers
