Do you know what areas they use for test routes for gtg edinburgh. I’ve been offered course there but originally from Glasgow.
It really makes no odds. Every test route in the country has “trip up” points - places known to give problems. And any half decent trainer will make sure you know how to deal with them.

I wouldn’t worry about the “test routes” as such, roads are roads and the public are as daft and try to shove there way infront of you no matter what, I’m up in Aberdeen, but down to Petes for my training, first test got messed up by Boris a few weeks ago but down again soon, its a bit different but not much and in some ways being well away from areas you are familiar with is good, not going to slip into car mode or auto pilot because you “know” the roads, take it easy, relax listen to your trainer and you will be fine.

Totally different, but I did Direct Access for my Cat A (unrestricted) motorbike licence just before Lockdown 2.0 and I think that’s totally right. I was only 15-20 miles away from my home, but going around another town I’d driven around probably once or twice a decade. Meant I concentrated 100% naturally, without needing to force myself into ‘Test Mode’. I can’t believe that bit is different if you’re on a motorbike, in a car, or driving some 44-ton monster!
