I am very new to the world of HGV and LGV and I am looking for an academy style position where I can learn, train and become licensed as I work.

I am not much help as I financed it myself, but my advice to you is to get you medical, licence and theory sorted before you go for the practical. All this is fairly cheap to do and would make the whole process far easier

That’s sound advice, I financed it all myself when I started did my rigid myself got in with a Refrigeration company and a year later they put me through the class 1 pt that was 16 yrs ago and loved every day of the job

I’ve broken it into 3 stages now which fits with what you are saying.
Stage 1- Provisional license and medical
Stage 2 - CPC
Stage 3 - Look for companies who will support through C + E.
On with the provisional paperwork I go.

Assuming you do not yet have cat C LGV
Medical D4 form
Provisional D2 form - just tick C & D
Theories x 3 = mod 1a basic theory + mod 1b HPT + mod 2 cpc theory
For cpc mod 4 test you will need a LGV so that is most commonly done with the same vehicle you use for the mod 3 on-road LGV C training & test
Mod 3 is the on road LGV C test
After passing C you automatically get provisional for CE
