Suspension question

Hi guys and gals
Just a question about suspension which I hope you experienced guys can help me with as I have a driving assessment on Sunday. When I was doing my class 1 training I used a Volvo. When uncoupling you pause to allow the suspension to lower automatically before driving out from under the trailer. My question is, Do all trucks do this automatically or are there some where you have to lower manually?

Thanks in advance.

Should do. If if doesn’t they’ll be a suspension levelling button on the dash or remote by the seat.
Ask your assor which one it is if need be.
They’ll not fail you for asking.

Just say that you haven’t driven that type of vehicle before and would they show you the essential controls. They shouldn’t mind you asking and of they do maybe that’s a sign in it’s self…

Not all trucks will auto self level, so best to press the self level button before dropping legs. Each truck type has its own way to do this and some wont do it unless the air is built up (eg: stupid 13 plate DAF’t).

I seem to remember some like Volvo dont make it obvious how you self level so best asking.
