Tips for rear steer trailers

JoshK97:
Hey guys, first post as a member

Given the chance to do trunks with Argos out of Mossend at the weekends and know they have a lot of rear steer trailers about. Anyone able to give hints or tips on driving these and also reversing them!?
A pretty recent pass on the class 1 aswell and only do driving at the weekends for now, so still plenty to know and learn yet, just appreciate any hints and tips!
Cheers guys

I’ve been on them a wee while now. Firstly, don’t sweat it mate. They follow you pretty nicely but just be aware of the extra length you have when overtaking etc.

Secondly, reversing. Most rear steer axles should automatically lock when reversing. Just make sure your straightened up before you attempt a reverse as the rear steer will work against you if you don’t. It may take one or two complete revolutions of the rear steel wheels to lock. If your unsure then get out and lock the rear steer manually before reversing. There will be a button to do it manually.

Other than that, doddle mate
