Best routing app

This is my opinion but …

It’s all well and good having an app that does what you want but I’ve found from experience that you end up falling into trap of relying WAY too much on it and take its rerouted choice as gospel. Don’t now btw!

I think you’d be much better off just using an app to put your drops in, ask it to optimise them and THEN look at where they all are on the map it shows you and decide yourself best way

This way you can make informed decision based on booking times etc

What’s necessarily easiest way on map doesn’t always tally with any booking times!

Also you soon learn where hotspots for traffic are and avoid these as you go

I’ve been using an xgody for a month now.

Do not buy one if you’re sat nav reliant.

Doesn’t recognise weight limits
Tried to send me through a bus gate?
Awful routing
Bizarre detours to avoid traffic jams(although you can dismiss this)
More cliches than you can shake a stick at

Just use Google maps

Ah I see, even though it asks for your weight and height?

Not actually used it yet myself but we shall soon see.

Yes.
Don’t get me wrong…for 40 quid,it’ll do you a job.
Just DO NOT follow it blindly.

IMG_20181102_090718.jpgOne of these…

I see people saying “Satnavs are ok, just don’t follow it blindly”.
But, that’s what they are for, isn’t it?
I input the address, I follow instructions, I rock up at the address i inputted, having avoided all the weight/height restrictions. This is why we buy the damned things, isn’t it?
“We used to use a map.”
Ok I get it, so did I. And an A-Z for multiple cities.
I don’t need it anymore.

Now I have a satnav, which I follow blindly until it puts me up against a low bridge which is where my brain takes over.

Stop knocking satnavs.

When you say XGody “Optimises routes” do you mean that you put a list of addresses in and it then works out the best route?

So, I could input…
A-D-G-B-W-H as a list of destinations
Just randomly input the addresses in no particular order, and it would then give me the best route…
A-B-D-G-H-W?

I did not know that!
Going to see if my Tommy will do the same.

Heya bud
I dunno if you’ve seen my recent posts about that very same thing?
My tomtom was routing me through width restrictions, under low bridges, massive detours when I hit the Blocked Road button, full monty of unacceptable satnav ■■■■■■
Had to do a complete reset and reinstall maps. Seems ok now…dammit, I shouldn’t have said that
