Hi guys if I put my tacho card in at half 6 that means I needs a break by half 12.so if I have a 15 min break say at 10 and haven’t hit my 4.30 driving do I still need my 30 min break at half 12

If you start work at 06:30 and have a 15 minute break from 10:00 to 10:15 you will need to start another 15 minute break no later than 16:15 (6 hours working time from the end of the last break) or a 30 minute break before going over 4.5 hours driving time (whichever comes first), though as you will need a 45 minutes break/breaks for a shift of over 9 hours it may pay you to make the second break 30 minute regardless of how much driving time you’ve done, obviously this would also reset your driving time.

Thanks that makes more sense current job I don’t hit 4.30 driving so just have split breaks but just accepted another job with more driving
