Umbrella or NOT?

Should I do this or not…I’ve heard horror stories regarding non payments

Not, end of… Its not even worth getting in to the reasons why!

Thats the sort of answer I like honest and straight to the point!

Do not do it.

I was umbrella for a week. After I realised I was paying fees to be paid - and also paying two lots of NI I explained to the agency I wasn’t going to be having that. They got me on Ltd - and it’s been all good since then.

Either Ltd - or PAYE. Never ever umbrella.

Avoid like the plague, I was umbrella for a while on a agency job and despite being on the same rate and doing the same hours week in week out my wages were always different and by that I mean in some cases £20 odd less

They should be banned

I wouldn’t touch umbrella if I were you. We all learn by our mistakes

umbrella is great but only if it raining…either insist on staying on PAYE or as a last resort become a LTD company, but PAYE is much easier and much more simple

Switched agencies myself. Now Paye. Fed up with invoicing. Accounts etc and no holiday pay. Also chance of permanent position.

Agency job is £12 ph Mon Fri 13.50 after 4pm. 15.50 Sat 16.50 Sun.

Happy with take home and less hassle.
