West Scotland Farmhouses

Hello,

Anyone do regular deliveries to farm houses in west of Scotland?

If your traveling with your rigid or artic vehicle from say Glasgow going to Say Oban or Skye what is the safest route you would take?

Whatever Google Maps tells you or the long route through Perth all the way around?

Rather you than me!

Not sure why you’re thinking of going to Oban or Skye via Perth as they’re opposite sides of the country.

Oban I would go M8, Erskine Bridge, A82 to Tyndrum, A85 to Oban. It’s a little tight in places on the A82 along the loch side but plenty of us manage it. If you don’t fancy tackling it go to Stirling and take the A84 to Lochearnhead then A85 to Oban.

Skye I’d take M8, Erskine Bridge, A82 to Invergarry, A87 on to Skye.

You may need to factor in bridge heights yourself but for me it’s not an issue as I don’t use tall trailers.

Sorry I meant to say from Dunblane, Stirling.

If it was me from dunblane then i would use A84 A85 then the A82 north to the A87 then all the way to skye. For oban same route but at tyndrum rejoin the A85 to oban and crack on.
