I am a newly qualified C+E driver doing the odd days driving for an agency on the days off from my full time job.
Following my last day driving I entered start of rest period on the tacho. I then had four days off. I then did 21 consecutive 14 hour nightshifts ( allowed because I am in an excluded sector under the working time directive) I finish at 06:00 Wednesday morning, then start driving some time on the following Wednesday after 7 days rest. This should just keep me under the 90 hour 2 week limit.I only drive 2 days a week.
What I cant find out is how this other work should be recorded. I currently write it into my diary. I don’t really fancy manually entering nearly 5 weeks of data into the tachograph, and if I did it would show an hours violation which it isn’t. Is recording it in my diary sufficient?
