Training

Hi,

Could anybody please assist me on good training schools? I live in Liverpool.

I am looking to do my Class 1+2. Hopefully one after the other if possible.

I already have my D license.

Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I’m a busy fella, working full time and a single Dad so I opted for the ‘someone else arrange it for me’ option and used specialised HGV. I’m sure others will have more profound advice mate. I’m from the red rose county as well but live in Newcastle these days. I have progressed well with SHGV so far

You need to wait for the licence to come back after passing C to start CE in most cases

Specialised HGV is a training broker not a HGV training company.

@ LouisM
I can’t recommend a training company in the Liverpool area but I would advise you to avoid training brokers, you’re just paying for the broker to fix you up with a training company and you’ll have no say in who you train with.

Chevron have a good reputation although in Flintshire which not that far away

Yeah it is but it suited me

Louise I live in Warrington I did my Class 2 with Hindley Green and class 1 with Peter Smyth Training and I took pass protection with them, Or alternative look for Stobarts All in scheme which runs out from Daresbury Runcorn. And by going with stobarts you can get a job interview and I am sure they will take you on as they are always looking for drivers Goodluck Pal as to whatever you choose.

Where you and the training company take the risk that the licence will be back in time for the CE test = not recommended :exclamation:

Yeah, you don’t need the photocard with you to drive / be taught to drive; but you do need to be sure that it’s actually been issued (they might have delays, lose the test paperwork, or have a question about something). By the time you can see that your entitlement has been updated on the online service or by phoning up, your photocard usually arrives the next day anyway…
