Hi All,
I know people who drive for a living are called professional drivers, but at what point can one call themselves a professional driver?

IE earning money then?

Technically taxi drivers, minibus drivers, van parcel delivery drivers and so on are all classed as professional drivers (as in driving is their profession), only people who sit their LGV licences seem to think it suddenly transforms themselves into the only ‘professional’ drivers on the road, but I gotta say from what I’m seeing on the roads and on (or trying to get on) loading bays I think many missed the memo that explained what professionalism really means.

It simply means someone who makes their living from driving. Likewise professional footballer, professional gambler, professional criminal etc.

Profesional criminal?! Please be polite and call them recruitment managers ffs… lmao

Tommy.

You’re only considered a professional driver when someone wants to complain about your driving.
Usually by numpties who like to complain about things on Facebook.
Example: "I was undertaken in the roadworks on the M6 by a so called “professional driver”.

Wouldn’t that be filtering… lmfao

A lorry driver is a vocational driver, i don’t know any lorry driver who seriously calls themselves a professional, we do call each other ultimate professional drivers at work but that is purely part of taking the ■■■■ out of each other.

Gifted drivers like me, are often referred to as ’ Jedi master driving Gods '.

Then again, I have also been called a bellend
