Reduced weekly rest period?

What time do you ‘normally’ finish Friday? If it’s 21hr00, the latest after a 06hr00 start, your normal weekend is 57 hrs.
That is 45 + 12.
Magic. You could do a full Saturday every other weekend.

If I have understood correctly that can only be the case if the Saturday is 12 hours and not 15 (as the following poster says it cannot be split over two weekends.

So one could in fact (bearing in mind the e.g the 0600 start and Fri finish 2100) - do two saturdays running of 12 hours and then must have the following two saturdays free. That can only be the case I presume if the Mon-Fri WTD = <48 hours. Max WTD in any week is 60 hours.

With the start times you’ve given you could not do a 12 hour shift on 2 consecutive Saturdays unless you finished early on Fridays.

Anyway, if you start on Mondays at 06:00 and finish on Fridays at 21:00 you’re having a weekly rest period of 57 hours, that means you could pay back a maximum of 12 hours compensation (45+12=57).

Working on that basis you could do one shift every second weekend, however you would need to have a reduced weekly rest period of at-least 33 hours, so you could do a Saturday shift as long as you finish no later than 21:00 Saturday, alternatively you could do a Sunday shift as long as you started no later than 06:00 Sunday and finished no later than 21:00 Sunday (assuming you have a reduced daily rest period available).

Whether you chose to work on Saturdays or Sundays you could only do one weekend shift every second week, you could not do it every week.

Obviously this is assuming that you have the required driving hours and working time available to do a weekend shift every second weekend.
