The work involves nights out and it’s express freight/pallet work in a curtainsider. I’ve already been warned that warehouse blokes will overload pallets and to expect to be waiting around longer than everyone else for things as …

Sounds like you’ve got a trunking job… and yet it’s Class 2. I used to work in the freight/pallet work but during the day doing deliveries/collections. As you say “express” then maybe it’s one of the 24-hour specialists. A trunking job is usually an artic going to a hub, unloading, waiting, then reloading and coming back to depot. Normally leaving 1800-2000 and returning 0300-0500. But maybe you are doing a night shift of what I did.

You are right about overloading pallets and need to wary, and be keen on strapping up. Ensure the forklift puts the pallet on fully so you are not left with it protruding the curtain (2" max limit).
