British summer time

Hi.
I read earlier that if you have a truck fitted with type 2 tacho you can put your manual entries in local time and the tacho itself will record it as a utc time automatically. The only tacho which requires drivers to put manual entries in utc time is type 1.
But then I found info that drivers must always put manual entries in utc. For example job undertaken between 0600 - 0800 today must be entered as 0500-0700 on any digital tacho.

So what is the true?

At our place we have changed the local time (GMT/UTC +1) on our tachos and it hasn’t affected anyone’s manual entrys as the tacho only records in UTC.

edit forgot to mention we have the newer type tachos. The older ones will force you to do your entry in UTC time no matter what the local time shows. So basically it’s down to what version tacho you are using.
