Successfully got a permanent job

Hi all.

I passed my class C last November but didn’t start looking for work until January, signed up to an agency and have been doing mainly 7.5t work.

The a few weeks ago a friend, who works on the motorway, got me an interview for a motorway maintenance operative position. Fast forward a week and I got the job… Definitely a case of not what you know but who you know!

So, not quite the job I ever expected to be doing when i got my license as ill be driving TM/gritting lorries but the work is varied and the money good.

I could be wrong, but I think that’s probably most of their work. And when I say work, from what I can see they spend most of their time on Traffic Management sitting about doing nothing. Not sure I could do that for long, especially if it’s a VAN, (Sorry tachograph) ‘Rigid’ without a bunk.
