I assume the medical has been done■■?
Depends on a number of things - how long DVLA take to return your licence - how soon you can book and pass the Mods 1a & 1b theory tests - how soon you can book a training course with a school and pass the mod 3 test - then how long DVLA take to return your licence with the cat C on it.
I would say that this could easily be all done and dusted by September if you do not delay and pass first time on most of it.

I know you mean mods 2 & 4.
You can do those when you return - no prob - but you cannot drive LGVs commercially until you pass mod 4.
If intending to drive LGVs in Canads then you have to take their training & test - they will not accept the UK LGV test pass & licence

THE DRIVER SHORTAGE IS AN ADVERTISING MYTH - Generally more drivers than jobs in the UK
However, many newbies on this site have recently secured permanent full time employment

Thanks for the reply,no i have not done my medical, the driving school who i will be doing the training with say they will do the medical and the driving assessement for around 150,that includes filling in the provisioal forms. i am aware i will have to take another course in canada but i just want to get a cat c just in case if or when i return. In canada i am planning on doing the full class 1 course which takes 3 month
I am sort of day dreaming at the moment thinking of what to do,i should have my visa for canada in no more than a month so i could go back anytime but i do have a flight ticket for september,i only came back from canada in dec 09 due to my work permit running out and been unemployed in england since.

Is the company on the recommended list by site members ? - if not then ask on here to see if anyone does know them.
Medical gets checked by the DVLA medical section so they will inform you if there are any issues.
I will phone them again tomorrow, the school is called stockport hgv, i have heard they have been around for a long time

Assuming thats Stockport in Manc?
I trained with Enterprise in Manchester and used to pass Stockport atleast once a day. Sure they had a Scania rigid and it was definately a FM12 for the artics. Seemed a well turned out company and the instructor was a good laugh while we were waiting at the test centre as they were there at the same time.
As Rog has said, a medical should be £49. Visit www.drivermedicals.com (or co.uk) and find your nearest place.
