Tarmac topblock

Have been down that road but not with them. OK co.-have done some work them. Regarding O.D.ing - TT and others like them like O.D.s 'cos you buy the wagon, you pay the bills and they don’t pay for holidays, sickness, downtime etc. If work goes quiet you stand at your expense, they won’t want you to work for anyone else, especially the competion when you are in TTs colours and you won’t be able to do much else but block type work because of the crane on your wagon especially if you go for a drawbar which is the best option for the job - artics are more flexible but not so good on sites!
On the up-side it’s an easy way to get started - you’ve got the backing of a big co.,they’ll organise finance, insurance etc. but they’ll take their share of your earnings before you get yours! Remember you will be self-employed but they are the boss. Also if you only work for the one co. you are classed as an employee for the WTD - reduced hours etc.
I did it for 12 years and it was OK - made a living but never got rich then spent 2 years working for anybody carrying anything and was better off but it depends a lot on where you live etc.
Hope this helps, don’t be but off it is a good way to start but it 's not all roses!
