A colleague has just gone on his own and was saying that his 63 plate Volvo will need its tacho replacing by law to the newer version. Is this correct? There is nothing wrong with it at present, he said he read an article that all older tachos need to be replaced.
If so anyone an idea on cost for this exercise?
I’d get some corroboration on that if I were him, I haven’t heard any such thing about needing a newer model tacho, though I will happily stand to be corrected by those who know from experience.
If it develops a fault that can’t be repaired, it has to be of a similar model or newer.
Tell him to speak to his calibration centre/maintenance provider if he isn’t sure.
