Hi just wondering what would i need to do if i took over a haulage firm would i need to apply for a new licence if the cpc holder was staying the same and nothing else was changing other than
the company owner and directors.
Completely new application, it’s to keep wrong uns out of the industry

If the licence is held in the name of a limited company then that is the entity that holds it.
If you buy out the current shareholders then the entity doesn’t change but the ownership/shareholding does. This will need to be declared to the TC within 28 days, and you will be checked out as a suitable person but the licence doesn’t lapse. This is different to a partnership which is dissolved and therefore a new licence is required.
