London With An Older Truck

We probably have to deliver into London next week, Feltham. As far as I can see delivery point is inside the emissions zone, no problem with that, customer has agreed to pay the £200  Regarding the safer lorry scheme the trailer has normal sideguards and we have a front view mirror we can fit, it has all 3 on the nearside. Am I missing something ? There is nothing magical about the load, it is just some steel fabrication that will not be finished until the evening and they want it on site the next morning. Grateful for any advice. (Will ask the same question on the drivers board).

The LEZ penalties must have recently changed as they show £1,000 fine, reduced to £500 if paid within 14 days ( tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/low-em … ty-charges )
It will be more cost effective to sub the job out. If you need help with that I can help you find the right subby (or possibly one of my trucks could do it depending where the job is coming from) - feel free to PM me with details.

You are confusing the charge with the penalty mate. You only have to pay the penalty if you don’t pay the charge. Charge is £200 :-

LEZ daily charges
We would prefer that your vehicle meets LEZ standards. However, if you’re not able to take the measures needed, then you can drive within the zone by paying a daily charge.
