O licence maxed out

One for the recently qualified TMs presumably.

The O licence is maxed out. A new unit has arrived and will be added to the licence within the specified period. The unit it will replace is currently taxed and insured and its disc has not yet been surrendered, the intention is to retain it for one month in case of teething troubles with the replacement unit. So only the correct number of vehicles in revenue service.

So if the new unit is in use can the old one still be used for non revenue purposes, eg trailer to MOT ? Once the discs have been in effect ‘swapped’ do things change?

Do you not have a “margin” on your O licence? I used to have a licence for one vehicle with a margin for one more in case of needing a rental vehicle.

Id be applying for a major change, even if its just for a margin. Id always have a margin of two, it allows a quick reaction to satisfy a customer. If thats your thing.

As for your question, sounds like youd be running more units then you have authorisation for as soon as it leaves the yard. Leaving it sat in the corner, with either it not being on your license or after removing it i see no issue. Only when you drive out the yard. Unless being on trade plates being deliverd to its new owner.

You can chop + change on their “operator self-service” website thingy whatsit…

Very easy, and its online in an instant…
