Container work advise please

Hello,

next Monday I’m starting at Tilbury and Felixstowe port.
I have never done containers work in my life.
I’ve got my ID cards and have an idea how skeletal trailer work but has anyone have got any advise for container’s new guy please

Kind regards

Ask for a map at security for Felixstowe, its massive and easy to get lost.
On a windy day, the cranes shut down so its Operation Stack.
Box rates differ for empty and loaded runs.
Boxes from exotic countries may have snakes, spiders and reptiles that got in when loaded.
Some boxes need venting on delivery to clear it paint or varnish fumes.
Handball loads can take six hours.
A decent back door lock is needed like a Bulldog brand.
Customers have the bolt cutters.
Be careful of top heavy loads.

I really like ideo of snakes and spiders

On boxes I had a mountain bike, give the goods in your mobile number to call when empty.
I cycled 12 Miles to the centre of London by the canal and river cycle route.
I had some Argos bar bell weight kit to keep fit.

That’s brilliant idea  since I grew a bit of a belly now I can loose it

A container driver told me, he took two days to unload, I can’t remember what the load was, if it was coat hangers to the roof or small boxes of toys, handballed off.
One takes a few hours,so you join the queue .
No need to worry about curtain slashers with boxes on, park where you want.
If you are using Southampton, parking is limited to one truck stop.
