hi guys , can a tractor unit be moved to get the tachograph calibrated without tax legally whilst being prepared for mot same as when its going for its mot . ive bought 1 without test and it needs calibrated , cant do one without the other ?

I think yes as long as the vehicle is booked in to have the tacho calibrated and nothing else like going for an MOT with no tax
If you are still by any chance still on analogue tacho pretty sure not having 2 yearly tacho is only an advisory on MOT. Don’t know about 6 yearly or digi.
