Renault premium bleed water in fuel fault

Hi everyone

Maybe one of you guys have come across this before
I have a 2011 Renault premium 460 dxi. On startup the fault “water in fuel bleed in menu” comes Up. When you go into menu and select bleed water I can see and hear the process happening and the fault goes away. However as soon as you switch off and restart it comes Back on again.
I’ve replaced all the fuel filters and fitted a new water trap sensor and bleed motor housing but it’s still the same. Any ideas?

Thanks

Is it actually bleeding any water out, You should be able to see it, mine drains it out under the engine onto the floor
Maybe a blocked drain tube, or a lot of water getting in there

Hi yes it is bleeding ok, I can see the fuel flow out from bottom of the bowl.
Has also tried to clear the fault using a texa machine but keeps popping back up

Is it draining water out or fuel.

If its water there could be a lot in the bottom of your tank

If its fuel it sound like a faulty sensor or wiring, I thought the sensor should only detect water, but not sure.

It’s draining fuel
The tank is clean
The filters are new and ther was no water in the bottom of the filters and the sensor is also new :frowning:

Thats about the extent of my knowledge on that, Possibly a wire from the sensor shorting out and giving a false reading.

Good luck

Or put some tape over the warning :smiling_imp:

The T range suffers with this too.

New fuel bowl, wiring loom and sensor still hasn’t sorted it.
