Not for any immediate business decision but something that I’ve been trying to figure out. What is the benefit of a halfpipe trailer? From what I can see it carries less volume than a standard tipper or walking floor and must raise the the centre of gravity of both the empty trailer and the load. What about them counters these negatives?
I think they have payload advantages when compared to eight wheel tippers.
I had one of the 1st half-pipe Kel-Berg T99 insulated tippers in NI back in 2004.
Now they are VERY popular with hauliers on quarry work here.
They provide good payload and very little “sticks” at front of trailer.
Boys on paver/spreader loved my trailer as product came out of it at higher temp than other manufacturers trailers,
Sides were always cold to touch.
