oil smell on start up with grey blue smoke
when that clears get black smoke when I give it rev
any ideas
Truck model and engine type? if MX engine 12.9 dont run it until you get turbo checked as they fail which dumps massive amounts of oil into the inlet side this then bent number 6 con rod and filled the scr cat with oil, basically it costs thousands to fix, there is an uprated turbo book time is just over 2 hours.
The earlier MX engined trucks also suffered from high oil consumption and this again required a full rebuild new liner/pistons etc as it came as a kit.

hasn’t really used much oil
■■■■■■■ ISB/paccar lump, dont know much about them myself, the compressor head gaskets fail pressurising the coolant system, and er thats about my knowledge of them sorry!
Prett tough motors only ever saw a handful being replaced/rebuilt in 8 yrs at daf dealer.
