Just thought I would mention this, incase anyone gets caught out.
A couple of weeks ago one of the hauliers on our job went to Birmingham airport, to a job we have on airside. Anyway to cut a long story short, on the way out he was escorted under the walkway from the building to the plane, and the to of his tank caught this causing damage to the plane and the walkway.
His company have now said he is not insured to be airside at an airport, 2 other hauliers on the job have also check and found that they are also not covered. Unfortunatly we are, as we are insured through Tarmac and they regularly have to send mixers and tippers airside, which is a pain as the rate for the job is rubbish and you can have a long wait to get on site(but that is currently under negotiation).
