Long Departed Southampton Hauliers

Remember when going scotch (if from the south), or going down to the smoke (if from the north), was long distance?
When Middle East work was readily available?.
When driving a 111 or F89 meant you were truly the king of the road?
Recall those companies long gone, where every day was an adventure?

What ever happened to those drivers you spent hours with.. where did they go? and recollect on those characters in the industry sadly no longer with us.
This forum is for us all to indulge in a little nostalgia and remember with rose coloured glasses how much better it was in the olden days

Hi all, just found pictures on the rawling's thread of the first reunion it was 10 year's ago 2009 who would have thought it would keep going that long.10 years of the same stories, but most are good enough to repeat time after time. It's sad that there is a few that were at the first will not be here this year. See you all tomorrow. 8)

Quite a good likeness Kev. Sorry to every one if I sounded a bit off.

I haven't been too well lately. Think I might need a brain transplant.

Yesterday I found it difficult to put names to peoples faces. Quite

frustrating. Makes me angry with myself. So if I ignored anyone at

"the bash yesterday. Then I'm really sorry.

Best Wishes to all. Regards Charlie

Well apparently quite a few years back when Charley was in his prime Pete's mum and Charley lived not a million miles apart and Charley had a very good push bike. So make of that what you want. Good to see so many there yesterday. 8)

Kevin. You realise that now the cats out o the bag I shall

be forced to leave Peter my wealth! Bit of a shock coming

Pete! I also told his Mum to call him Sebastian.for obvious

reasons. Good to see everyone I remembered. Roy Talman

For example. The last time I saw him was in Le Havre in 1988.

Anyway roll on next year. Regards Charlie

Was your "bash" poorly attended this year? normally there are loads of photos on here, all I have seen are a pensioner down on his luck with a gerbil trying to steal his batteries from his trolley.
