Yes Brian was the first to have an Iveco G980 OLG and G974 OLG was rogers who is sitting in the drivers seat with a ■■■ on.

I think it is John Rocks old truck which he used on the cattle before having a B Series ERF KUE 872V.

Remember seeing this Merc a couple of times. I think there was also an article about it in a magazine once…

the inside of the cattle body was cleaner than in the cab of rockys b series lol…think brianhad his already when i started and i think iworked with tony preping and painting rogers iveco and trinks i think it was …what about pauline from car paints lol you could hear her a mile away but she knew her stuff when it come to paint

You will notice that the livery of the scania, is the same as Richard Fords, they were good friends, probably still are, I can remember having to go and borrow one of Ronnie Rowe’s trailers with twist locks, we were taking jag’s in containers down to Le Harve and Fordie didn’t have many, it was a right load of crap, floor boards missing, brought a load of glass bottles back from France with it around 1985.

Hi Mike, yes it was a very nasty smash, i believe the driver of th D series had fell asleep and travelled some way down the hardshoulder before hitting the back of the broken down cattle truck.
Wm Rowe & Sons went bust in the early 90’s and J. Clarke Transport took over the workshop at Elford carring out HGV repairs,Breakdown work and general haulage.

Has anyone got any shots of Smith Bros.,those Black Atki 8 wheel tippers.I always thought they were a decent operation and didn’t union trouble cause them to close, I seem to remember reading about it.Cheers Bewick.

I dont have any shots but there was an article in one of the classic truck mags which was all about one of there mechanics from years ago a chap called Graham Blakeman and plenty of pictures, yes they did have union trouble they closed and then restarted as CTS
