Preston hauliers

I do not expect many UK drivers had ever been to Preston Docks as it was mainly contracted work to local based depots and local drivers. Early 1970s I remember NIT Northern Ireland trailers, P&O D&A and Williames flat bed Containers for Irish Peat and not forgetting Isle of Man steamship Ronaldsway ect. I worked for Williames before they contracted out to Woodsides Brothers and IFS Group Northern Ireland who had taken over Williames Airfreight.
Many loads of baled Peat had to be restacked due to nature of product and rough sea crossings.
Many Thanks to Tankerian (Trucknet) found photo Woodsides hauling a Williames Trailer. I suspect the trailer was hauling Williames Groupage and Airfreight.
The reason for the photo of the Hollands Pie Van is it reminds me of Home as I moved to Norfolk over 35 years a go. The frozen Hollands pies are not the same as the matured pies left in chippy for days on end.
