Can't wait for the Sammy Scott's site to be up and running (already bookmarked it!) it's really get the old memory banks working overtime
Pass my regards onto Jack K although I don't think he will remember me, I was the young lad who drove one of the Foden S80's for Henry Johnsons from 76 to 78 and was a mate (next door neighbour) of Billy (Whizz) Hodgkiss when he was on for Prescotts.

Have added more pictures today to the Scott's of Oldham photo site

One of the pictures i have posted below shows John Sykes (on the left) and owner Dennis Scott.
John Sykes who worked in Scott's transport office for many years was in fact the brother of the well known comedian Eric Sykes known for his BBC television sitcom with Hattie Jacques and Deryck Guyler, called Sykes.

no it was a mickey mouse cabbed one,it was e reg unit the driver who had it before my dad was called ERIC ETHILLS and the f reg was driven by TOMMY COCKRAN,my dad was there between 65/68.

Have passed your email on to Jack Kershaw and Barry Scott they will send him a reply

Will be posting more pictures on to the site over the weekend one of which is this one sent to me by 88 year old ex driver Arthur Wilson who is seen driving the AEC Marshall in the 1966 Oldham Carnival.



This is only one of quite a few photographs sent to me this week if any one else has any old Scott's pictures can you please get in touch as every old surviving picture is unique!

Just had a phone call from the Oldham Evening Chronicle that have said they are doing a feature about the Scott's web site which is great.
This is a chance to get in touch with ex drivers who don't have access to or use the internet.
Those who see the article may have some old pictures in their possession.
Here's hoping.

No they never had any Commer's but they certainly ran a mixed bag in the early days consisting of AECs, Albion's, Bedford's, Leyland's and what came to be the main stay of the fleet in later years plenty of ERFs.

Had 137 emails over the weekend mainly thanks to the article in the paper.



ABOVE Barry Scott (right) and Jack Kershaw take time out for a photograph after the Oldham Evening Chronicle printed a full page feature all about the web site. With over 12,000 hits in the first three weeks of the web site going live Barry said " I cannot believe the interest that the web site has generated". With photographs being sent in from all parts of the country it just shows what a large popular company 'Scott's of Oldham' was in it's heyday.

Think that car on Burnley Lane might be a Ford V8 Pilot? One of my dads mates used to have a repair garage down in Hathershaw called Terminus Motor's and I'm sure he had one of those parked up in a big shed at the side. Spent many a hour pretending to drive it when I was about 8yr old
