Anyone remember the converted open topped tractor unit featured in, I think, Truck magazine doing a trip through France in the late 1980s or early 1990s? Anone got pics? ISTR it was a Leyland…
yes it was a dark red leyland with a white soft top iirc
they used it for race meeting’s too
It was a high-datum Roadtrain and was finished in metallic red and cream Connolly leather interior.
Its currently on a farm in West Yorkshire.
i do have a article of that going down to the South of France in a Truck and Driver, Around 1987/88
I think someone has that as an avatar.
This is it Harry. I saw it in 1985 at the Scottish Motor Show
Well spotted Dafmad I had it as an avatar for a bit.
where in yorkshire is this truck?
geoff reyner of manchester owned that motor they recabed it and put it on the beer contract
Wasn’t there a thread about this truck a couple of months back with pics and all (Can’t find it at the moment)
IIRC isn’t it in a field outside Keighley or somewhere?
Alex
cant find the previous thread but remember someone saying it was near keighley and in a very sorry state,
