John Laing Photographic Collection

John Laing has been one of the UK’s foremost construction companies for over 100 years and it has been involved in some of the biggest projects of the last century, covering motorways building, power stations and rail projects. Laing’s employed its own professional photographers to record its achievements and its photographic archive extends to 230,000 images. The first 10,000 photos are now able to be viewed at the Historic England website. In a first, quick 10 minutes viewing I found several lorry photos of the M6 being built.
