After spending what seemed light years running both north and south on the M6 on nights,days,tramping and roaming,I decided,as good as an employer that SoM were,enough was enough.
In late 80’s I put my self through a C and G plumbing course,became qualified,and after 3 years employed half a dozen guys doing the same work.
Best decision I have ever made,being a truck driver wasn’t going to get me what I wanted out of life for me and my family,now very contentedly retired in Portugal,lapping up the expat lifestyle.
