I have spent several hours trying to find out where I took that photo of Ken Bates going over that bridge in Bulgaria on Google Earth and I think that I have finally found it.
When I work out how to add the link then I shall try and put it on. 
If you look at the road now then you will find that there has been very few changes in some places.
The Grid Reference on Google Earth is 43,04’47.87 North. 24,58’47.87 East.
It’s about 12 miles South West of Suhindol and about 1 mile past a town called Malki Varshets.
