I have to pretty much agree with Cav551 in as much as there are determined and powerful groups in Britain and in the EU that don’t want us to leave, irrespective of the result of a democratic vote. Even if HM Govt formulates what it wants as the “best deal for Britain”, and gets it approved in both Houses here, there are still 27 other countries ready to lob a brick through the windscreen and stop the job - Northern Ireland’s DUP included. Where in the constitution of the Common Market/EEC that we were signed up for (without asking the electorate first) are there any rules and guidelines for leaving? The unelected captains of the gravy train are just making it up as they go along, with the intention of either bleeding us dry or forcing our government to renege on its obligation to the population. Watching Question Time on Thursday, maybe it would be better to let some of those Barnsley folks loose in Brussels and give them some straight talking.
