I would hazard a guess at that Merc artic loaded with steel being one of Consolidated Land Services from Scunthorpe.They ran a lot of those type Mercs out of BSC on steel work.

You’re right Chris,but the pale yellow band was thicker than that shown.

you are right Mr Webb ive expanded the photo and it is Consolidated Land Services(and not an AEC to be seen…how do you do it!!)

:smiley: I can just make out the EE Grimsby reg plate now and also the address format.For some reason I could not get a larger image when first posted.It’s a firm I remember well as I used the A18 a lot when on tanker work in 70s,they carried wide loads of plate and you had to watch for them at Keadby Bridge where it were a bit narrow,and also a disused railway bridge near Two Rivers Cafe.They did run AECs in 60s IIRC but I don’t recall any in 70s.
