Supposedly the idea(s) is to eliminate blind spots (ok) and improve aerodynamics (hmmm…)
I’ve been told that the cost of recovery is built into the purchase plan for the new Mercs.
The daft thing is that you would have expected the camera to be a plug in unit with an easily accessible socket, but no… break the camera and you need to replace a large bit of the kit, which involves dismantling the dashboard. A replacement camera is apparently about £3000
