It is a good job that nothing serious stopped the planes flying.

Hi woody90, Just a little note of caution mate…
If it’s not your truck, you need your boss’ permission to carry a passenger if you are subject to ADR.
Under ADR, it is a specific offence to carry an unauthorised passenger.
IMHO, it wouldn’t be a good idea to be caught by the French police for any ADR-related offence unless you have very deep pockets.
For completeness, the passenger would need some form of documented ADR ‘awareness.’ (But not a proper ADR certificate.)
It’s a kind offer mate, but I’m just pointing out a possible pitfall.

Would that be the sort of moment when one would have “mixed feelings”?
Just heard that there are 2 full coaches on there way from gibraltar. The people have paid £300 each, and if there are no flights they are fully booked going back. Now that’s what i call a good earner, wouldn’t we all like some of that. Wouldn’t fancy the ride in a coach seat though !.

Dave, you’ll have forgotten more than I know but as its still fresh in my mind having finished my ADR today, a passenger doesnt have to be ADR aware but be over 18 years old and deemed a competent person
However its illegal for passengers when carrying ADR unless their part of the crew
See I did learn a bit

Hi Stu,

Spot-on Stu, you’re off to a good start.

You did indeed, but it seems that you’ve got some of it slightly mixed up.

Oh dear Stu, now you might need to have another look at your course handout, because what you’ve mentioned is a mixing up of the rules for passengers with the rules for supervision. Those are two separate subjects mate.
If you’re still convinced you’re right, and you clearly remember your instructor telling you this, then he’s wrong.
