I don’t know how you would define “French Travellers”? Best not get distracted.
But I haven’t seen any G-J activity for ages.

Covid wise-
Lots of tourists, shops, services, and restaurants open. Face masks in common usage, although some are stricter than others…

My choice of language was not ideal and open to interpretation,wasn’t it.
I have heard nothing about the G-Js for some time and wondered if covid had suspended their activities.

Franglais, re the mask wearing, the new Prime Minister in a statement to the French government this week,
stated that masks will be compulsory in ALL enclosed public places as of Monday 20th july.
This will include supermarkets. The majority of smaller shops are already enforcing it,
but those that haven’t been, will now also have to enforce it.
