Jobs Continental

I would be interested to hear from anyone that runs continental from the South West of England, as I am an HGV driver with 12 days continental driving experience who would like to gain further skills in this area of work.

Would anyone who would be able to point me in the right direction for companies who might be willing to give me a start in the next month or so please reply to this.

I am a young 42, held a clean license for 3 years, but really have only been driving rigids.

I have just spent the last year and a half travelling Europe in a camper van and am now back in the UK, where I’ve decided no more rigid work and European work is more what I am looking for.

Thank you.

Maybe I should have put a more selective area in my posting, but I’m based in the Exeter area. If you know of any down this way, then I’d be pleased to hear from you again.

Thank you for your help with the Bristol area tho.

If you don’t mind ending up in China

Or is all that finished now?

Penton’s were advertising. Aren’t they down that way somewhere?

When you are on continental, distance of home from base isn’t so critical. I worked for Cheverall’s at Luton when living in Nottingham. They always found me a load home for the weekend. Mind you not so hard when you live in the middle of the country.

Salut, David.

cheers 4 info, will chase up pentons.i was working in france last year, not driving,as i did not have a fimo! I think a fimo is a safety license you need to drive in France. Anyway thanks for your advice, I will keep trying different companies to get a start. Money’s tight and cold weather coming in, so I’ll be eating porridge from a sock until I get work!!

If you’re down Exeter what about M&D Transport? Try sending a PM to Devon Boy on these forums as he may be able to give you some good tips on who to try in the region. That job in the Plymouth area sounds like it could be H.T Gardner as they specialise in the Iberian Peninsula. Could also try Westfield as their European work has increased, would depend on how flexible they are with where the vehicle is stationed …

Hope it works out,

Craig
